Taking accountant’s website from old and stuffy to fast and funky
The old RES Group website was ugly, clunky and too hard to update… Within a few weeks of putting up their new website, the company had secured a high net worth client who paid for their website investment several times over.
Aimee Bridgman, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at North Shore based chartered accountants and business coaching firm, says the firm wanted something that didn’t look like a traditional chartered accountant’s website.
“Our old website wasn’t very functional and it was too hard to update. Basically ugly and old fashioned, probably because it was a template site,” says Aimee.
After listening to several proposals, RES selected Datum Connect to build their new website because the firm felt that Datum Connect had taken the trouble to understand their business and their pricing was competitive.
“We wanted a website that reinforced our brand – it had to be fresh, dynamic and easy to use. We wanted to be able to quickly update content ourselves and it had to have a newsletter function, because it’s important to stay in contact with your database,” says Aimee.
The solution was a six page website with a modern, funky design and a newsletter engine, as well as the functionality to sign-up new newsletter subscribers via the website.
“It is the easiest thing to manage content myself. When we’re mentioned in the media I can just update the website very quickly.
“Datum Connect trained me on how to use the content management system and in how to use Google Analytics. Throughout the process they were very responsive to our likes and dislikes. At no stage was I overwhelmed with jargon,” says Aimee.
Established primarily as a brand reinforcement tool, the website at www.resgroup.co.nz has nevertheless brought in business. One example is a Chinese client who found the firm online and was impressed by the fact that Mandarin speaking staff were available to assist him.
“We note that our About US page is very popular, indicating that people have heard of us elsewhere and are going to the website to find out more about our firm.
“We like the fact that as trends and technology change, our website can grow with Datum Connect,” says Aimee.
