A
Word From Fiona
Happy New Year to all,
We here at New Zealand Wholesale Seafoods are right
back into the swing of things and the new year is
looking more exciting than ever.
After our last newsletter you told us that you wanted
more news on the market place and we are more than happy
to provide.
Since December, Tarakhi has been scarce. At present
we are sourcing most of our Tarakhi from the South
Island to get the best deals for you as the prices for
the fish in Auckland have sky rocketed. One kilo of
Tarakhi from Auckland is costing us up to $30 to
cut!
Gurnard and Red Cod are plentiful at the moment and
for a nice change, Turbot is on offer which Im sure will
tempt all of you're tastebuds.
It has been sad to say goodbye to the Fresh New
Zealand Scallop season but we've purchased a limited
quanitity of frozen Scallops. So if Scallops are what
you're after it would pay to get in quick.
The worldwide market for Scallops is limited, so we
can expect to see a price increase soon.
Our latest product range that I am most excited about
is from the Te Mata Cheese Company. The Summerlee Goats
Milk Curd is definately worth checking out and we are
happy to give a cheese tasting sample to those of you
who are interested.
Look forward to hearing from you soon,
Fiona
